Stranger Photos Have Occured - New Farm Park

So I thought it's time to do another one of my random projects, considering the last one was in May, and the camera never came back.

This time I decided to go for the tried and tested "tie the camera to a spot and come back" approach.

The little rascal left for work with me on Saturday, 20th Aug, and got tied to a lamp post in New Farm Park near the ferry terminal.

About 7 hours later when I came back for it after work, only 3 frames had been used, so I thought I'd try again the next day in a better spot, figuring that people probably didn't notice the rascal on the ground.

So the next day, 21st, a Sunday, I tied the little rascal to a bench near the first spot it was at.

And as luck would have it, 5 minutes after I left the camera there, (and about 5seconds after I got on the bus to work) it started raining. And as I was just thinking to myself, it's just gonna be a drizzle, it started pouring buckets. Great. And I freaked out about what I'd the little rascal caught a cold and died or worse, drowned in a shallow puddle.

Again, about 7 hours later, I went back to pick the rascal up. This time just hoping that it was still alive. And....

IT WAS GONE!!!!!!

All that was left was the leash....

Walked around a bit trying to find the camera, and heard some drums. Being the nosy parker I was, I couldn't resist following the noise...

When I got back to the bench for one last look before I headed home dejected, guess what I saw?

YES. In the short 10 mins that I had gone and located the source of the drumming, the camera had been returned to the bench. And whoever had returned it had stuck a note on the camera

"Sanity may be madness, but the maddest of all is to see life as it is and not as it ought to be."

Thought it was an interesting quote, but, thank you for returning the camera, kind stranger.

So, right now, at this point, the pictures are developing. And my fingers are crossed, hoping that the rain hadn't drowned the poor thing.

Will update soon with the developed pictures. Stay tuned!

Stranger Photos Have Occured - 15/04/2011 Brisbane

Hiya all!

To those of you who are on this page because you've found my camera, thank you for participating in the project!

Initially I was so terrified that no one's going to notice the camera or play with it, or that someone was gonna run with it. Then the partner decided to freak me out saying maybe some homeless dude shot a buncha pics of his junk. Made me so not tempted to develop the pictures.

But, I'm really happy with the results. There's some great people out there, great photographers! And thank you for playing with the camera!

The Location - South Bank Riverside Walk.

The Setup - Waterproof Disposable Camera attached to a card, attached to the railings.

The card for those of you inclined to read what's written on it.

For all the pictures from the roll ( all of it developed well... =p) please visit the Stranger Photos Have Occured album. If you know the people in the pictures, please tag them! Let them know that you've seen their pictures!

Here's a selected few from the album:

The Disposable Memory Project

As some of you would have heard by now, WMLTM has decided to participate in the Disposable Memory Project, and has released 2 cameras in Brisbane. The first was left at the Nundah Rail Station, and the second was handed over to Tom & Teri Rowe while yours truly was trying to jump up a bus, leaving me no time to explain to them what was going on. So, they had to figure it out themselves.

For those interested in tracking the progress of the cameras, you can follow them at the links below:

For Camera No. 323: http://disposablememoryproject.org/cameras/camera323.html

For Camera No. 324: http://disposablememoryproject.org/cameras/camera324.html

Do note that it may be months before we know where the camera has gone off to. Camera 219 had been inactive for 10 months before being found again. =p

Plog Entry 5: Idea. Brillance. NOT. maybe.

Ok, I've got this crazy brilliant (I think) idea.

I'm gonna be scribbling and doodling random stuff on Post-Its and paste it somewhere where everyone will see, and just sit in the vicinity to take shots of people who stop and look.

Brilliant?

Maybe.

But, it's got potential (again, I think.)

So, said project will start next week.

Anyways, having spent the ENTIRE friggin' day at home (feeling a tad lazy arsed and refusing to budge from the bed except for my meals...), and discovering I falsely deleted my ENTIRE lot of photos from my hard disk (thank god I managed to retrieve them after blowing 50 USD on a program), I'm kinda in a mood to just post some cute lomography shots I took back in Singapore.

My Favourite: Baby's Breath.

The Malayan Railway Station tracks. Reminds me of Baseball Soto *Yums*.

A lovely stanza from an old MGS girl at Old School, Mount Sophia. I wonder how old she is right now.

The poor bicycle looked so forlorn sitting there all alone at Redhill MRT Station...

One of my favourite places to take pictures: The Singapore Art Museum Corridor. This picture was taken using the Disderi Triple Lens Camera, better known as the Robot Camera.

Again...another blog.

To all those people out there crying:

"What is this Mizz Raven up to? Another Blog?!?!"

Yes, another blog. But no, not JUST another blog.

This time, I'm determined to make this into my own little Picture/Photo blog.

Photo + Blog = PLOG

Okay, as usual, this doesn't make much sense.

But, I NEVER make any sense. That's just me.

So, basically, as of... *let's see*... the 19th of July 2010 onwards, I will be setting myself daily projects to accomplish to fill this blog up.

Till, then, I'll just keep taking random shots of random things around me...
